Step into Work (STA) is a service from the Swedish Public Employment Service for those who, due to illness or disability, need work-oriented rehabilitation. The goal is for you to gradually be able to approach working life or studies.
Steps to Work (STA) – Vocational Rehabilitation
Do you need support to move forward towards work or studies? Then Step till work(STA) might be right for you. At AKG Sweden, you will receive guidance, work-preparatory activities, and support tailored to your needs.
What is Steps to Work?
How STA works
The program consists of four parts that are tailored to your needs. Everyone starts with part 1. After that, you continue with part 2 or 3 and finish with part 4.

Who can participate in Step into Work?
STA is aimed at those who, due to disability or health issues, need work-oriented rehabilitation. The program is designed to strengthen your capabilities and create pathways towards employment or studies.
This could, for example, be about you as someone who:
Has little or no work experience.
Need to increase your activity level to get closer to the job market
Lacking education or needing to change direction due to illness or disability
Has education and experience but needs a new direction in their career
Has limited knowledge of the Swedish language or needs language and communication support
Has a visual impairment, hearing impairment, or is deaf
Have been on sick leave and need support for returning to work
Has mental and/or physical health problems
Need insight into the consequences your disability has in work situations
Participates in the enhanced collaboration with the Social Insurance Agency
To meet different needs, STA is divided into tracks based on education level and language background. This ensures that you receive the right support whether you lack education, have a high school or post-secondary background, or need enhanced language and communication support.
